The Front-end Team Lead is responsible for guiding a team of developers to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and efficient front-end solutions. This role focuses on balancing hands-on technical work with managing team operations and ensuring the team meets project and company goals. You’ll oversee the implementation of front-end architecture, provide technical mentorship, review code to maintain quality standards, and help streamline development workflows. Success in this role comes from ensuring project delivery, optimizing team performance, and fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment for team members.

Your day-to-day

  •  Continuous Learning & Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest frontend development trends and tools. Focus on your individual growth and share knowledge within the team when it benefits the project or improves efficiency. Lead the team in staying up-to-date with the latest frontend development trends. Organize and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure continuous improvement and innovation across the team.
  • Manage the Front-end Development Lifecycle: Oversee the front-end development processes within the software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring timely delivery of well-tested and high-quality user-facing features. Collaborate with other teams (e.g., back-end, design, QA) to ensure smooth integration and alignment with business objectives. Provide clear guidance on priorities, address blockers, and ensure the team follows best practices in front-end development.
  • Coordinate and Develop Scalable Frontend Solutions: Guide the team in implementing scalable, modular front-end architectures while aligning with the organization’s overarching technical vision. Collaborate closely with other team leads to ensure consistency, reusability, and adherence to shared design principles across teams. Take ownership of front-end architectural decisions within the team, provide high-level guidance, and ensure adherence to best practices (e.g., SOLID, DRY, KISS). Review and provide constructive feedback on designs and implementations to maintain quality standards.
  • Proactively Identify and Resolve Inefficiencies: Regularly analyze the work of the team, the front-end development processes, and the system’s performance to identify inefficiencies. Drive improvements by prioritizing and resolving issues based on business and project needs. Propose actionable solutions where possible or escalate unresolved issues to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Provide Technical Insights: Collaborate cross-functionally to provide valuable insights on technical challenges related to your work. Act as the key technical leader for cross-functional collaborations. Analyze complex challenges and deliver strategic solutions to drive innovation and optimization for the entire team’s development process.
  • Bug Fixing & Code Maintenance: Own the resolution of bugs reported by QA or identified during reviews. Ensure that the team addresses bugs and technical debt in a timely manner. Oversee and support senior and middle developers in their maintenance work, ensuring issues are resolved proactively and in alignment with long-term goals.
  • Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed and updated documentation in JIRA and Confluence, covering your tasks, team activities, and development processes. Ensure all documentation adheres to established team standards and serves as a reliable resource for current and future projects. Proactively address any gaps in documentation by coordinating with the responsible parties and escalating missing information when necessary. Set a strong example for thorough and consistent documentation practices..
  • Version Control: Maintain version control using get (GitFlow), ensuring all code additions and updates are accurately managed. Assist with broader version control practices when needed.
  • Advanced Peer Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability. Offer constructive feedback to peers while focusing on improving your own code quality. Conduct in-depth, high-level code reviews to ensure the accuracy, performance, and maintainability of the team’s work. Guide senior and middle developers through the review process, mentoring them in best practices.
  • Collaborate with Designers: Work closely with designers to ensure UI/UX designs are effectively translated into responsive, interactive, and performant game clients. Provide input on design feasibility for the team’s tasks, guiding developers in implementing solutions that meet both technical and design requirements.
  • Balance Technical Contribution and Team Leadership: Maintain a balance between hands-on coding and team management responsibilities. Actively contribute to development tasks, including writing, reviewing, and optimizing code, while dedicating time to mentoring team members, coordinating workflows, and resolving blockers. Ensure that both individual contributions and team oversight align with project goals and deadlines.
  • Leadership: Define and track success metrics and prepare and present progress reports, ensuring data-driven insights inform decision-making. Foster an inclusive and supportive team culture where individuals feel valued and heard.

Your background and mindset

  • 5+ years of experience in development, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role, managing teams or mentoring developers.
  • 2+ years of experience with React or any other modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or Vue.js.
  • Strong experience in conducting code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Experience in working with requirements, including analyzing, clarifying, and translating them into actionable tasks for the team.
  • A solid understanding of UI/UX concepts and methodologies, with the ability to collaborate effectively with designers.
  • Practical knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Previous experience in iGaming is a plus.
